Travel Weekly visited Rick Stein’s latest restaurant, located in the newly opened InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach hotel, which features a bleached Mediterranean beach atmosphere. The hotel boasts 198 keys and the restaurant offers seating for 224 guests across three unique areas:

The interior includes intimate indoor dining spaces, a 10-seat chef’s table, and two 12-seat banquette areas. The walls display two significant artworks: an arrow squid and a school of fish.

Sass’s Bar and Opening Details

Sass’s Bar, named after Stein's Australian PR wife Sarah, occupies the former karaoke bar of the building’s previous Crowne Plaza incarnation. Rick Stein is expected to arrive on site by December 20, following a soft launch serving just 80 guests.

The booking site saw more than 3,500 visitors as soon as bookings opened.
