Starting in 2026, Gran Canaria Swim Week will shift from October to June. This change, announced by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria alongside the event organizers, local designers, and industry representatives, aims to boost the event’s international profile and better align it with global swimwear markets.
Previously held in October, the event will now take place in summer for strategic reasons. The Cabildo called the rescheduling a "strategic step" to cement Gran Canaria Swim Week as a leading international swimwear event.
"After analyzing the market, we identified that this rescheduling offers a date more closely aligned with the strategic interests of the sector’s main players, including wholesale buyers, the media and end consumers," said Councillor for Economic Development Minerva Alonso following discussions with designers and industry stakeholders.
This adjustment reflects a deep understanding of the market's demands, aiming to maximize the event's appeal to key industry participants.
The date shift to June is designed to strengthen Gran Canaria Swim Week’s global competitiveness and position the island as a major creative hub in swimwear fashion.
