The One UI 8 Watch update appears to have caused a malfunction in the stress measurement algorithm across several Galaxy Watch models.
Users of Galaxy Watch models, including the Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch 8, and Galaxy Watch Ultra, have reported an unexpected rise in stress notifications after installing the new software.
“Some Galaxy Watch owners are seeing continuous high-stress alerts even when they don’t feel anxious,” reports Android Authority.
Samsung devices gauge stress using indicators such as heart rate, heart rate variability, and physical activity. Normally, when prolonged stress is detected, the watch sends an alert to the wearer.
It remains unclear why these alerts have intensified. One possibility is that Samsung modified the stress detection algorithm in the update, making it more sensitive or more responsive to minor stress indicators previously undetected.
SamMobile, which maintains affiliate and sponsored partnerships, noted this issue while discussing the recent update — one of the most significant released for Samsung’s smartwatches.
The latest Samsung smartwatch update may have unintentionally heightened stress alert sensitivity, leading users to feel more anxious than before.
