airBaltic will launch a weekly direct flight every Friday from Gran Canaria, Spain, to Ljubljana, Slovenia, operating through the winter season until early April 2026. The flight time is approximately five hours.
This new service is part of airBaltic's winter schedule and expands the Latvian carrier’s presence from its seasonal base on Gran Canaria.
“The new route between the two cities is expected to attract more tourists from Slovenia to Gran Canaria during the colder months, when travelers in Central Europe are seeking sunny and warm destinations,” said Mantas Vrubliauskas, airBaltic’s VP Network Management.
“It also provides residents of Gran Canaria the opportunity to explore Ljubljana, famous for its beautiful old town, and lively atmosphere.”
The flights will be operated using airBaltic’s Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which are currently being equipped with free high-speed SpaceX Starlink internet, enhancing the passenger experience.
