Adelaide Metro is spreading holiday cheer by providing free public transport on the day of the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant. From 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, buses, trains, and trams will be available at no cost to passengers.
This initiative, returning in 2025, aims to make it easier for families to attend the nation’s largest festive parade. The event, the biggest street pageant in the southern hemisphere, attracted over 300,000 visitors last year.
To manage the expected crowds, Adelaide Metro will run additional morning bus and train services. Substitute buses will also operate along the Glenelg tram line due to ongoing upgrade works.
“Adelaide Metro is so pleased to provide free public transport to help children and families get to the city for the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant,” said spokesperson Michelle Spagnoletti. “We’ll have additional services running on the day, so hop on board and leave the car at home.”
For public safety, several road closures and temporary bus stop adjustments will be in effect throughout the Adelaide CBD during the festivities.
Adelaide Metro’s free transit for the 2025 Christmas Pageant ensures families can celebrate together while easing traffic and enhancing safety across the city.
