Hull KR have confirmed that the 2026 World Club Challenge will take place at the MKM Stadium, marking the first time the prestigious event will be hosted in Hull. The club promises to deliver the biggest rugby league spectacle the city has ever experienced.
The game will feature treble-winning Hull KR and NRL champions Brisbane Broncos on Thursday, February 19. This match will unite the reigning champions of both hemispheres in what promises to be an unforgettable encounter.
In 2025, Willie Peters guided Hull KR to an extraordinary clean sweep, capturing the League Leaders’ Shield, Challenge Cup, and Super League title. Meanwhile, Michael Maguire’s Brisbane Broncos earned their first NRL crown in 19 years by defeating the Melbourne Storm 26–22 in a thrilling Grand Final.
“With offers from around the world to host the game, we are delighted to bring the Betfred World Club Challenge home to Hull, allowing supporters, not just from the city but the whole region and beyond, the opportunity to see the world’s two best rugby league sides go head-to-head,”
said Hull KR chief executive Paul Lakin. He added that February will mark a historic month for the club, featuring the Super League title defence opener and a special trip to Las Vegas for the “Battle of Yorkshire” just one week later.
