The San Jose Sharks delivered their most complete performance of the season on Wednesday, overwhelming the Seattle Kraken 6-1 at Climate Pledge Arena. Six different Sharks players scored, while goalie Yaroslav Askarov made another strong start in net.
Dellandrea’s first goal of the season came shorthanded at 3:24 in the third period, extending San Jose’s lead to 5-1. Just 30 seconds later, Toffoli scored his fifth goal of the season to seal the victory.
The Sharks successfully killed all six Seattle power plays, marking their most decisive win this season. Their defense was sharp, and Askarov stopped 28 of 29 shots, including 14 in the final period. The win improved San Jose’s road record to 3-3-0.
“Our penalty kill was really good tonight. So that helps,” said Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky. “I thought our game got better as the game went on.”
San Jose (5-6-3) had previously defeated the New Jersey Devils 5-2 on October 30, though three of their other wins this season came in overtime. Askarov also made 36 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Colorado Avalanche the previous Saturday.
