The Alaska Weather Team has issued a First Alert Weather Day for Thursday, anticipating a snow event across Southcentral Alaska.
According to Alaska’s Weather Source, a system of low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska is drawing moisture northward, which is expected to trigger a November snowfall across the region. Snow will begin around midday and last into the evening hours.
The winter weather system is expected to taper off by Friday morning, leaving behind several inches of snow in affected areas.
“Snow is likely to push through the region,” the Weather Team said, emphasizing the likelihood of widespread accumulation across Southcentral Alaska.
Residents are encouraged to share their weather photos and to check live radar, satellites, and forecasts on the Alaska’s News Source Weather App, available for Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV.
Author’s Summary: A developing Gulf of Alaska storm will bring snow to Southcentral Thursday, with Anchorage seeing several inches before conditions clear Friday.
