‘Weather Bomb’ to Impact Newfoundland and Labrador

Special weather statements and warnings are issued for most of Newfoundland and coastal Labrador as a powerful storm approaches. CBC meteorologist Ashley Brauweiler is monitoring a so-called "weather bomb" expected to hit parts of the region on Tuesday.

Rainfall and Coastal Flooding Risks

Significant rainfall is expected across the island starting Tuesday morning, with some areas forecast to receive between 50 mm and 70 mm of rain.

Environment Canada warns of possible coastal flooding and wave heights ranging from six to nine metres, particularly threatening the south coast if waters rise above high tide.
