Netflix’s TUDUM event has finally unveiled the intense opening of Stranger Things Season 5. The exclusive screening took place at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and streamed live on November 6, 2025, starting at 5:00 PM PT. After a two-hour wait, fans were presented with the first five minutes of the show’s final season.
The preview opens with a haunting scene featuring Will Byers, offering a look at what immediately followed his abduction by the Demogorgon in 1983. The 12-year-old boy lies unconscious in the eerie forest of the Upside Down, softly singing a familiar tune in his sleep. When he awakes, panic takes over as he realizes he is being hunted.
Hearing the growl of the approaching Demogorgon, Will grabs a gun and fires, but his shots prove useless. In a frantic escape, he races through the dark forest and climbs a tree. As he tries to leap to another branch, he falls hard to the ground and loses consciousness.
The scene then reveals Vecna, as fearsome as ever, towering over the unconscious boy. His tentacles wrap tightly around Will, dragging him toward a dark wall as the tension escalates.
"The spine-chilling video made it clear that it will surpass everyone’s expectations in terms of brutality."
Author’s Summary: The premiere of Stranger Things Season 5 delivers a gripping and brutal reintroduction to Will Byers and Vecna, setting a dark tone for the series' final chapter.
