“I didn’t see frustration in camp. He came in, and there was competition. We have a lot of players, and we have to make decisions. Being sent down to the minors wasn’t what he wanted, but that’s for him and Brad (Treliving) to sort out.”
Berube emphasized that Kamp’s choice to step back from the Marlies was personal, noting that roster depth required difficult decisions during training camp.
“Cowan really handled the puck well, skating through the neutral zone and making plays offensively. He and JT read off each other nicely and created solid scoring chances.”
Berube praised the chemistry shown by Cowan and Tavares and expressed optimism about Nylander joining the line to add further energy and creativity.
