6 Stranger Things Stars Who Have a Failed Career Outside the Netflix Show

From Noah Schnapp to Natalia Dyer, six Stranger Things actors have struggled to find success beyond Hawkins' supernatural world.

Noah Schnapp Reflects on Season 5

The fifth and final season begins with a flashback showing a de-aged Will Byers. Noah Schnapp shared with SFX magazine how he helped guide the young actor's physicality and breathing, as the VFX team worked extensively to recreate an 11-year-old version of himself.

“I guided the young actor to match my physicality and breath work before the VFX team spent months working with 11-year-old me.”

Schnapp also admitted he’s ready to say goodbye to the character as the show concludes with three release dates: November 26, December 25, and December 31.

Gaten Matarazzo's Career Beyond Hawkins

Gaten Matarazzo, known for his role as Dustin Henderson, became an instant fan favorite for his humor and heartfelt performances. However, his career beyond Stranger Things hasn't matched the same level of visibility.

Prior to the Netflix series, Matarazzo thrived on Broadway, starring as Gavroche in Les Misérables and Benjamin in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. These theater roles shaped his confident screen presence.

“His comedic timing and emotional sincerity made him the glue of the Hawkins gang.”

Despite strong theatrical roots and popularity on the show, several cast members have encountered challenges maintaining momentum in their acting careers after the series.
