On 26 November, Netflix’s Stranger Things begins its much-anticipated three-part farewell. The first four episodes of season eight will drop on Thanksgiving Day, followed by three more on Christmas Day. The series finale will air on New Year’s Eve, marking the end of the streaming platform’s most successful original show.
This finale caps a decade-long journey for David Harbour, who gained international fame playing Jim Hopper, the police chief of Hawkins, Indiana.
With fans eagerly awaiting the conclusion, the latter half of 2025 brought intense media focus on Harbour. This increased further after a surprise album release last week, significantly boosting the spotlight on him.
Before the pop-based drama unfolded, Esquire Spain’s Rafael Sánchez Casademont met with Harbour in September to discuss his career, the bittersweet end of Stranger Things, and his future plans. The interview has been edited for length and clarity.
