Netflix has unveiled the first five minutes of the premiere episode of Stranger Things season five, titled “The Crawl.” Following the release of new character posters, the clip transports viewers back to 1983, when Will Byers vanished into the Upside Down.
In the preview, Will is seen inside his improvised fort when a Demogorgon attacks, pulling him into Vecna’s eerie lair. This marks Will’s first horrifying encounter with the creature that set events into motion.
“The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna.”
Years later, the once-quiet town of Hawkins remains broken. Vecna has disappeared, leaving his plans a mystery. Meanwhile, government forces have quarantined the town and renewed their pursuit of Eleven, driving her into hiding once again.
As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance nears, a deep sense of dread returns. The final confrontation approaches — darker, deadlier, and more powerful than ever before. To end this nightmare, the entire group must unite for one last fight.
The opening of Stranger Things’ final season revisits Will’s haunting past and sets the stage for a desperate final stand against Vecna in a fractured Hawkins under siege.
