Edgar Wright says he has “no regrets” about stepping away from Marvel’s Ant-Man. Speaking on The Playlist’s Discourse Podcast about his new film The Running Man, Wright explained that although he began working on Ant-Man before Iron Man was released, by the time Marvel had fully established its brand and continuity, the creative freedom he sought was diminishing.

“You’re not still losing sleep over that, are you?” Wright quipped about the Marvel project. “I didn’t regret my decision to leave at all.”

He added that since then, he has avoided superhero films, not feeling any urge to return to the genre.
