Thousands of players faced login issues with EA Sports FC 26 early Friday morning. The developers have now clarified the cause behind the downtime.
Just hours before launching a highly awaited promo, UEFA Primetime, the EA Sports FC 26 servers went offline, blocking access to Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs, and other online modes.
Reports on Down Detector showed problems beginning around 6:17 AM GMT on November 7, increasing sharply after 9:00 AM GMT.
“EA servers are down today on FC26! That ruins the stream for this morning so going to do it in the afternoon instead!”
“I was just playing a Division 1 game and it's gone down on me. Frustrating.”
Contrary to rumors, the outage was not due to a technical failure. EA took the servers offline to perform necessary maintenance.
In a statement on X, EA Sports FC Direct Communication said:
“We have a maintenance coming up.
During this time, you will be disconnected or unable to access online services. Match creation will be disabled 30 minutes before maintenance.
Titles impacted: EA Sports FC 26, EA Sports FC 25 and EA Sports FC 24 on all platforms.”
The servers for EA Sports FC 26 and related titles are temporarily offline for scheduled maintenance, impacting all platforms until the work is complete.
Scheduled maintenance caused the EA FC 26 servers to go offline, halting online gameplay but ensuring smoother future experiences for players.
