Sunshine returns on Monday with temperatures rising steadily. Fox 32's Emily Wahls provides the latest forecast.
Sunday Morning and Afternoon Conditions
Sunday began very cold, with temperatures in the mid to upper 20s near and south of I-80. Most of Chicagoland woke to temperatures in the lower 30s, while Chicago stayed slightly warmer with morning lows in the lower 40s.
Gusty southwest winds helped pull in warmer air by afternoon, pushing temperatures into the low to mid 50s.
Sunday Night Forecast
Expect partly cloudy skies with breezy conditions overnight. Lows will drop to the upper 30s to low 40s. Southwesterly winds will gust near 25 mph through the night.
Monday Through Wednesday Outlook
- Monday: Highs near 60 degrees with increasing warmth.
- Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a stray sprinkle, but most areas will stay dry. Temperatures in the lower 60s, warmer than average.
- Wednesday: Partly cloudy and mild with highs again in the lower 60s.
Thursday to Weekend Preview
Thursday expects cooler air and more clouds, but temperatures will remain slightly above normal with highs in the mid to upper 50s.
“Our next rain chance arrives Thursday night and Friday as a cold front moves through the region.”
Friday will bring highs in the lower 60s before colder air arrives just in time for the weekend.
