Remembrance Day Parades 2025: Bus Service Changes on Sunday 9 November
Temporary route adjustments will affect several bus services on Remembrance Sunday, 9th November 2025. The listed parades are known to NCT, but other events may cause brief disruptions.
Two Minutes’ Silence Observance
At 11:00 AM on Sunday 9th November and Tuesday 11th November, bus drivers will pause for the national two minutes’ silence. When it is safe, they will park their buses, turn off the engines, and invite passengers to join in remembrance.
Free Travel for Military Personnel
NCT offers free bus travel for all serving personnel, cadets, and veterans from 8th through 11th November 2025. Passengers must show valid ID or be in uniform when boarding.
Road Closures and Bus Diversions

Nottingham Road, Church Drive, and Sir John Robinson Way will be closed between 09:00 and 12:00 on Sunday 9th November.
- Lilac 25 and Lime 58 services will be diverted accordingly.
- These stops will not be served: Charles Street, Sainsbury’s, Portland Street, Daybrook Square, Thackeray’s Lane, Calstock Road.

In Calverton, a parade will affect Sky Blue 61 bus route from 09:00 to 12:00.
- Missed stops include St Wilfrid’s Square, St Wilfrid’s Church, and Oakland Grove.

Main Street in East Leake will close between 10:30 and 11:45 on Sunday 9th November.
- South Notts 1 buses will be diverted via Main Street, Castle Hill, and Loughborough Road.
"Bus drivers will observe the 2 minutes silence and will, where safe to do so, park their buses and turn off their engines and the company invites you to join them in national remembrance."
These temporary changes ensure safety and respect during Remembrance events while providing essential travel options.
