Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez will not return this season after being charged with a felony following an incident in October. Sanchez, who worked as a color analyst at Fox Sports since 2021, is no longer with the network.
Mark Sanchez has been replaced by former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who is expected to cover one of the games in Week 11.
“We can confirm that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network,” a Fox Sports spokesperson told TMZ. “There will be no further comment at this time.”
After the news of Sanchez’s departure, his brother Nick Sanchez Jr. shared a statement focusing on recovery and gratitude.
“It’s been a long month for Mark as he continues to recover from serious injuries while also grieving the loss of a close friend,” his brother said. “While the recent news, and its timing, is understandably disappointing, our priority remains his continued healing and recovery. Mark deeply values his time at FOX and the exceptional colleagues he’s had the privilege to work with. Those relationships are meaningful and will endure.”
The incident occurred on October 4 around 12:30 a.m. in Indianapolis, where Sanchez was attending the Indianapolis Colts-Las Vegas Raiders game. He was involved in a physical altercation that led to the felony charge.
