In Kherson Region, Russians Attempt to Approach Ukrainian Positions from Oleshky – Marines

Russian forces in the Kherson region are mainly attempting to move closer to Ukrainian positions from the direction of occupied Oleshky, according to Colonel Oleksandr Zavtonov, spokesperson for the 30th Marine Corps of the Ukrainian Navy.

"In our defensive sector, the enemy primarily tries to approach our positions from the occupied Oleshky area. They usually operate in small groups of two or three. Our reconnaissance units detect these groups in time and strike them as they advance," Zavtonov said.

He noted that Russian troops also attempt landings in the island zone. Sometimes they succeed but then hide there awaiting rotation, often left behind by their commanders. Most are killed, while only a few manage to surrender to Ukrainian forces.

Ukrainian Marines Repel Multiple Assaults

Over the past day, units of the 30th Marine Corps repelled an enemy assault near the Antonivskyi Bridge on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Russian troops also tried four additional attacks toward Ukrainian positions but were detected early and forced to retreat after taking losses under Ukrainian fire.
