A team of interstate assassins is being sought in connection with the suspected murder of a Melbourne underworld figure. The search for those responsible has intensified.
Athan Boursinos, 21, was believed to be on his way to court when he was shot in Game Lane, Wollert, located in Melbourne's outer north, on July 31.
Victoria Police released CCTV footage showing two men they wish to question regarding Boursinos’ death. However, the police have not indicated that these men are directly involved, only that they want to speak with them.
Boursinos has been connected to the daylight gangland killing of Sam "The Punisher" Abdulrahim. Underworld sources claim Boursinos served as the getaway driver in the January 28 hit.
Abdulrahim, a champion kickboxer, was shot by a team of assassins in the underground car park of the Quest Hotel in Preston, Melbourne's north.
