The Singapore-based microbrand Horologically Unique has introduced its first model, the HU-01—an elegant and affordable timepiece powered by a Peseux movement and inspired by the legendary Calatrava 96.
When Patek Philippe launched the Calatrava 96 in the early 1930s, it revolutionized the concept of the dress watch. The model has since become the archetype of refined simplicity and remains one of the most recognized designs in horology.
Building on this legacy, Horologically Unique sought to reinterpret the Calatrava spirit with a contemporary touch. The HU-01 features balanced proportions, a finely detailed case design, and a price point far below that of vintage Calatravas, making it accessible without sacrificing quality.
The brand started as the personal project of a passionate watch collector who ran the Instagram account @horologically_unique. Initially focused on selling his curated collection of vintage watches, he later chose to design his own—an idea that evolved into creating an accessible, high-quality, and understated dress watch.
“The goal was to make a classic and clean time-only dress watch that had to be affordable, but high quality, thin, and comfortable to wear.”
The Horologically Unique HU-01 captures the classic elegance of the Calatrava in a modern, accessible form that blends heritage, style, and craftsmanship at a reasonable price.
