Colombo, November 5 (Daily Mirror) — Former MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka stated that more needs to be done to completely eliminate the underworld in Sri Lanka.
"Arresting figures such as Madush and Kehelbadara Padme will not end the underworld. There is much more to be done,"
Fonseka emphasized that eliminating criminal networks is achievable and not an impossible task. He expressed confidence in the government’s current commitment to tackling organized crime.
"The present government seems to be keen on destroying the underworld and I extend my best wishes and hope it will be achieved before long,"
Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka called for stronger and continued efforts against Sri Lanka’s underworld, while citizens voiced both support and a desire for tougher reforms.
