Meet the KINGPIN: Ringbrothers' Newest Restomod of a 1969 Ford Mustang

At this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas, Ringbrothers revealed the KINGPIN, a reimagined 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1. This striking vehicle emerged from the Wisconsin workshop after more than 5,500 hours of meticulous work.

Every panel and surface has been redesigned to merge the iconic 20th-century Mustang silhouette with the engineering and aesthetics of a modern performance machine.

Chassis and Body Transformation

The transformation starts underneath, with the original Mach 1 unibody replaced by a Roadster Shop FAST TRACK Stage III chassis. The body was widened—two inches at the front and three and a half at the rear—and the wheelbase shifted forward.

Though the KINGPIN remains unmistakably a Mustang, its surfaces have been completely reinterpreted. The sculpted bodywork, crafted with Ragle Design, presents sharper lines and a more substantial presence.

Design and Finishing Details

Handcrafted panels are coated in BASF’s Bootleg Black, a unique shade that absorbs light instead of reflecting it, emphasizing the car’s shape. Subtle touches of 'Grab-Her Green' accent the dark body, serving as a modern take on Ford’s classic Grabber Green.

Carbon fiber is extensively integrated, appearing on the rear diffuser, hood, grille surround, and lower valance. These components enhance aerodynamic flow and reduce weight, balancing the car's visual appeal with its technical prowess.

"The bodywork, sculpted with Ragle Design, carries an even tension, with crisper lines and a heavier volume."
"The handcrafted panels are finished in BASF’s Bootleg Black, a tone that absorbs light rather than reflecting it, allowing the car’s geometry to define its presence."

Ringbrothers' KINGPIN perfectly blends classic Mustang heritage with contemporary restomod innovation.
