The Ringbrothers 'Kingpin' Mustang Is an 800-Horsepower Piece of Art

The Ringbrothers "Kingpin" Mustang: A 800-Horsepower Masterpiece

Over 5,500 hours of craftsmanship went into creating one of the most powerful and refined Mustangs ever built. Ringbrothers, known for their ambitious builds, brought their latest creation—the “Kingpin” 1969 Mustang Mach 1—to SEMA 2025 in Las Vegas.

Engineering and Performance

Under the hood lies a Whipple-supercharged Wegner Motorsports 5.0-liter Coyote V8, delivering 800 horsepower. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a Bowler six-speed manual gearbox, giving the car an authentic, driver-centered experience.

Chassis and Handling

The builders took the bold step of converting the Mustang’s original body-on-frame architecture into a full unibody chassis. This upgrade uses a Roadster Shop platform featuring dual wishbone suspension and Fox RS coilovers, resulting in exceptional cornering balance and grip.

Design and Style

The custom Mach 1’s proportions have been subtly but effectively altered: two inches wider at the front, 3.5 inches at the rear, with a wheelbase extended by 1.5 inches. The build wears HRE wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, complemented by carbon fiber accents that create a modern yet restrained aesthetic. Despite the upgrades, much of the Mustang’s original spirit remains intact.

“The Ringbrothers built one of the most intense Mustangs on earth.”
