Global record stores joined in on “Ego Nite,” marking the release of Hayley Williams’ third solo album, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party. The event celebrated the official vinyl debut of the LP, which now includes an unexpected addition — a new track titled “Showbiz.”
“Showbiz” follows previously added songs “Good Ol Days” and “Parachute,” expanding beyond the album’s original seventeen tracks released earlier this year under Williams’ label, Post Atlantic, through Secretly Distribution.
The song, co-written with producer Daniel James, portrays a fleeting romantic moment set against the fog and lights of a crowded club.
“I wanna do it again / I wanna dance in the strobe lights / I wanna choke on the smoke / And feel your eyes on me.”
In this scene, Williams ponders whether the experience carried the same meaning for her partner. The visualizer accompanying “Showbiz” showcases Nashville’s skyline and incorporates the familiar hand-drawn art style featured throughout the album’s design.
During “Ego Nite,” fans enjoyed album playbacks, special merch, and limited physical releases of the LP, strengthening the connection between the artist and her audience.
