Buckner Shines in Clemson Debut; Tigers Defeat New Hampshire by 50 Points

Clemson University men’s basketball began the 2025-26 season with an impressive 88-38 victory over New Hampshire at Littlejohn Coliseum on Monday night. Allowing only 38 points marked the fewest Clemson has conceded in a season opener since December 11, 1946, when it defeated Erskine 58-30.

Standout Performance by Ace Buckner

The Tigers (1-0) were led by redshirt freshman Ace Buckner from Dallas, Texas, who scored 18 points, grabbed three rebounds, dished out two assists, and blocked one shot. Buckner surpassed the debut scoring output of his father, Greg Buckner, who posted 10 points, nine assists, and five rebounds in his first game on November 29, 1994, against Charleston Southern.
