Presidential Pardon for Army Major
President Bola Tinubu has granted clemency to Major Suleiman Alabi Akubo, a Nigerian Army officer sentenced to life imprisonment for selling over 7,000 stolen military weapons to Niger Delta militants.
Akubo, 62, was among 175 persons who benefited from a presidential pardon, following the National Council of State's approval. His life sentence was reduced to 20 years due to "good conduct and remorsefulness", according to Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga.
