Donald Trump expressed his desire for a peace deal with Iran after the US and Israel struck the country's nuclear sites earlier in the year.
In a speech to the Israeli parliament, Trump suggested that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is facing trial in three corruption cases, should be pardoned.
"Cigars and champagne, who the hell cares about that?"
Netanyahu and his wife Sara are accused of accepting over $260,000 worth of luxury goods from billionaires in exchange for political favors.
Trump praised Netanyahu as one of Israel's greatest wartime leaders.
