The ninth-generation Toyota Hilux pickup truck debuted in Thailand, marking a decade since the last model. Known globally for its toughness and occasional use in carrying heavy automatic weapons, the Hilux now features an all-electric variant as part of Toyota's multi-pathway approach.
The new Hilux will also include a hydrogen fuel cell version alongside diesel options. The EV model is highlighted as Toyota leads its transition toward electric and alternative fuels.
The Hilux will be offered in single- and double-cab versions. However, European markets will receive only the double-cab due to sales preferences, according to the automaker.
Toyota says the new Hilux BEV will be able to go roughly 150 miles (240 kilometers) on a full charge, based on the WLTP cycle.
The electric Toyota Hilux blends durability with modern propulsion, catering to markets demanding powerful yet eco-friendly pickups.
