All-New Toyota Hilux Debuts Globally With All-Electric Powertrain
Toyota has unveiled the ninth-generation Hilux, introducing an all-electric powertrain for the first time. The company also confirmed a hydrogen fuel-cell electric version set for release in 2028. Alongside these innovations, Toyota continues to offer the proven 2.8-litre diesel engine combined with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
Modern Design and Enhanced Technology
The latest Hilux undergoes a major design transformation, aligning with the aesthetic of the new Toyota Land Cruiser SUV. Both exterior and interior designs have been completely reworked, bringing in more technology and improved functionality.
Exterior Styling
At the front, the Hilux features sharp LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights and a robust, closed-off grille displaying the bold 'TOYOTA' lettering. The sculpted bumper includes silver accents on the lower edge and integrated LED fog lamps that enhance its rugged look.
In profile, the pickup retains the iconic Hilux shape with a dual-cab design and flatbed, complemented by aerodynamic alloy wheels. The electric model includes a charging port located on the front fender. At the rear, vertically stacked C-shaped LED taillights, a black bumper, and prominent ‘TOYOTA’ badging complete the design.
