Toyota has officially unveiled the ninth-generation Hilux, one of the most anticipated vehicle launches of the year. The reveal took place in Thailand, a key market for Toyota’s pickup production and release.
The new Hilux will roll out globally in 2026, featuring a wide variety of configurations. It remains the best-selling vehicle in South Africa, where it is produced at Toyota’s Prospecton plant in Durban.
The new Hilux keeps its signature boxy silhouette but presents a refreshed exterior. Significant design changes include a redesigned honeycomb grille inspired by the Corolla Cross.
Slim LED headlights and LED daytime running lights stretch across the top of the front, complemented by a black horizontal bar featuring bold “Toyota” lettering, replacing the traditional badge.
“The new Hilux features a noticeably refreshed exterior while maintaining its familiar, boxy shape, which has become a core part of its identity.”
