Mr. Leavers served as a prominent figure within the Queensland Police and later as president of the Queensland Police Union, where he became a strong advocate for officer safety and fair resourcing.
“Queenslanders will remember his leadership during some of our State’s most tragic and defining events,” Premier David Crisafulli said.
The Premier described him as “dedicated, principled and driven,” highlighting his enduring respect among Queenslanders for consistently defending the police service he cherished.
