Glen Powell, known for Anyone But You, stars in the new adaptation of Stephen King's 1982 novel The Running Man, following Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1987 version. On a recent Graham Norton Show episode, Glen opened up about filming an embarrassing half-naked stunt scene in freezing conditions.
During the shoot, Glen had to abseil down eight stories while wearing only a harness, which he admitted was far from flattering:
"I had to abseil down eight storeys of a building in freezing conditions half naked and wearing a harness which cinched me – believe me nothing looked good."
Glen revealed a humorous yet awkward detail about the production crew member's role:
"There was a guy whose only job was to stop me kicking a window, which means he was looking up my skirt all night, I wondered what he was seeing take after take."
Glen also shared how he was left red-faced after receiving an extensive phone call from Tom Cruise. The Top Gun star, 63, gave Glen advice not just on stunts but on how to stay safe:
"Tom rang me to give me the low down and, what I thought would be a ten min call, lasted two and half hours – he basically told me how not to die."
According to Glen, Tom bluntly told him he "didn't look cool" during the stunt, which led to an unexpectedly valuable lesson.
Author’s Summary: Glen Powell humorously recounts his revealing stunt scene in The Running Man and how a lengthy call with Tom Cruise helped him prepare safely, despite some awkward moments on set.
