Entergy announced that Marcus Brown, executive vice president and general counsel, will retire in the spring of 2026. Effective December 1, Brown will transition into the role of Executive Legal Advisor to Entergy’s Chair and CEO, Drew Marsh.
Following Brown’s retirement, his key duties will be reassigned between two senior leaders who will report directly to Marsh.
Dan Falstad, currently vice president, deputy general counsel, and corporate secretary, will become senior vice president and general counsel. He will continue to serve as corporate secretary and act as the company’s liaison between the board of directors, management, and shareholders. The ethics and compliance organization will also report to him.
John Hudson, senior vice president, chief external affairs officer, and president of the Entergy Charitable Foundation, will report directly to Marsh and assume oversight of the chief security officer team, previously managed by Brown.
Throughout his career at Entergy, Brown played a major role in advancing community and educational initiatives. He led the company’s Power of Prosperity program, a decade-long, $20 million pledge that supports students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Brown serves on the boards of Tulane University and Energy Insurance Mutual.
Falstad continues his role as corporate secretary and president of the board of the New Orleans Ballet Theatre, maintaining active involvement in the arts and corporate governance.
Marcus Brown’s retirement marks the end of a distinguished legal career at Entergy, paving the way for a smooth leadership transition and continued emphasis on ethics, education, and community involvement.
