Neighbours in Sussex are celebrating after winning big in the People's Postcode Lottery, with a great-grandmother preparing to visit her son in the USA.
The People’s Postcode Lottery is a subscription-based lottery that raises funds for charities while awarding cash prizes across the UK. From Monday to Friday, 20 different postcodes win £1,000 each, and on Saturdays, players share a prize of £1 million.
On Saturday, October 18, residents of the TN40 1LY postcode in Bexhill-on-Sea won the weekly Millionaire Street prize. Five houses in the postcode each won £200,000.
Barbara Cartmel, who lives in a seaside apartment overlooking the English Channel, was among the winners. She said:
