Victorian team secures place in Scania’s ‘Top Team’ Asian Regional finals

Victorian Team Triumphs in Scania’s Australian National Top Team Competition

A team from Scania’s Dandenong Branch, part of the company-owned Australian network, has won the National Top Team competition for the second consecutive year. They will travel to Bangkok in early 2026 to compete in the Asian Regional finals.

Path to the Asian Regional Finals

The competition involved seven teams from Scania’s Australian branches who participated in the National Finals, following a knockout round among eight other teams nationwide. The top two teams from Asia will qualify for the World Finals in Sweden.

About the Top Team Initiative

“Top Team is a global Scania initiative that celebrates and develops the professionalism of our service teams, strengthening technical capability, efficiency, and collaboration within our workshops,” said Stefan Weber, Director of Aftersales at Scania Australia. The event took place at Scania’s Campbellfield head office in late October.

Team Dandenong’s Performance and Leadership

Team Dandenong secured overall victory for the second time under the guidance of captain Chris Chilver. He described this year’s National Finals as the toughest in his four-year participation.

“We had good team spirit; we weren’t put off if we had a low score from one of the stations when we went to the next one. It was evident that it was going to be a tough event, so we just buckled down. We allocated each team member to the tasks that best used their strengths. I think we worked quite well together,” Chris explained.

Summary

The Victorian team’s disciplined teamwork and strategic task allocation led them to successfully defend their title and advance to represent Australia in the Asian Regional finals.
