The first season of Dispatch isn't finished yet, but a continuation seems likely. One of the founders of AdHoc Studios confirmed that the game's massive success means the team will have to "think" about creating a second season.
This year has been packed with excellent games, many of which were surprises. Titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Arc Raiders stood out, but the biggest surprise commercially has been Dispatch, a superhero workplace comedy praised as the best Telltale-like game in years.
Since the launch of the first two episodes, Dispatch quickly became a major talking point and a contender for game of the year. Given this success, it was expected that AdHoc Studios might consider a second season, which they addressed recently in an interview.
Reddit user NefariousnessBig7887 highlighted that AdHoc co-founders Nick Herman and Pierre Shorette appeared on the Skill Up podcast, The Friends Per Second. When asked about future plans after completing Dispatch, Shorette said:
"We've already announced a project set in Critical Role's Exandria, but Dispatch's success means AdHoc is going to have to at least think about a second season of the game."
AdHoc Studios is considering a follow-up season for Dispatch following its unexpected success, while also working on a Critical Role project.
