Newly released emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, disclosed by House Democrats, arrive at a critical moment for Republicans, diverting attention from internal Democratic disputes over the government shutdown.
The emails include allegations from the convicted sexual predator claiming former friend Donald Trump “spent hours at my house” with one of Epstein’s victims and that Trump “knew about the girls.” These messages give new weight to doubts surrounding Trump’s longstanding denial of any knowledge about Epstein’s sex trafficking operations.
“Of course he knew about the girls,” Epstein wrote in 2019 before his suicide in federal prison while awaiting trial on additional sex trafficking charges.
In a 2011 email to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein expressed surprise that no one had linked Trump to his sex trafficking network, writing, “I want you to realize that the dog that hasn’t barked is trump.”
The recent Epstein emails strategically released by Democrats deepen the controversy around Trump’s alleged knowledge of Epstein’s crimes amidst a pivotal political moment.
