Akron failed to score on its overtime possession. On 4th and 4 from the Kent State 19-yard line, Zips quarterback Ben Finley’s pass to tight end Conner Cravaack was incomplete, covered by Flashes safety Derrick Jackson III.
Kent State responded with a 25-yard pass from Dru DeShields to Ardell Banks on the opening play of overtime. Will Hryszko kicked the PAT, sealing the win. Banks was wide open on the right sideline.
