Denzel Aberdeen delivered a career-high 26 points along with seven rebounds, but No. 9 Kentucky was defeated by 12th-ranked Louisville, 96-88, on Tuesday night at the KFC Yum! Center.
Turnovers played a crucial role in the outcome. Kentucky committed 14 turnovers that Louisville converted into 19 points. Louisville only turned the ball over six times, resulting in 10 points for Kentucky.
Louisville opened the game scoring the first four points. Otega Oweh responded with a layup to give Kentucky its first score. Chandler then hit a three-pointer, putting Kentucky ahead 5-4.

Aberdeen’s three-pointer narrowed the margin to two points, and the teams exchanged baskets. Andrija Jelavic scored consecutive baskets to give Kentucky an 18-17 lead. Louisville retook the lead, but Jaland Lowe’s four-point play extended Kentucky's advantage to 22-19.
Louisville then sparked a 13-point run to lead 32-22. Lowe added two free throws to end the run, and Jelavic broke a string of six Kentucky missed shots with a putback, bringing the score to 34-26.
Malachi Moreno’s two free throws cut the deficit further, but Louisville pushed the lead to 46-28 with a 10-point streak. Kentucky responded with baskets from Aberdeen and Moreno, trimming the score to 46-32.
After a Louisville free throw, Oweh hit a three-pointer, narrowing the Cardinals’ lead to 47-35 at that moment.
Despite standout individual efforts, Kentucky struggled with turnovers and Louisville’s offensive runs, which ultimately decided the game.
