Mature Aged Mid Joins Pies

With Pick 57 in the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft, Collingwood selected mature-aged midfielder Angus Anderson. Coming from Sturt Football Club in the SANFL, Anderson earned the Jack Oatey Medal as best on ground in the 2025 Grand Final, where the 'Double Blues' claimed victory.

Anderson impressed with 19 votes to secure the award after recording 24 disposals, nine marks, and a goal. At 22 years old and 190 cm tall, he combines strong physical presence with skill and composure around the contest.

“When you watch Angus play football, there is a lot of heart in his game. Watching his journey as a footballer has been fulfilling,”

said Collingwood National Recruiting Manager Shane O’Bree, noting Anderson’s passion as a key reason behind the club’s decision.

Earlier in his career, Anderson captained the Sydney Swans Academy and is known for his competitive playing style. Throughout the 2025 SANFL season, he played 18 games, averaging 20.1 disposals and 4.6 tackles per match.
