Researchers Return to Britain's Jurassic 'Highway'

Researchers have returned to Oxfordshire's 'dinosaur highway' to uncover new dinosaur footprints, specifically Europe's longest sauropod dinosaur trackway.

A major new dinosaur track site was discovered at Dewars Farm Quarry, near Bicester in Oxfordshire, in Summer 2024. The excavation was featured on BBC Two's Digging for Britain, presented by Professor Alice Roberts.

This summer, the track site was expanded as a new area containing dinosaur trackways was uncovered by teams from the Universities of Oxford, Birmingham, and Liverpool John Moores, along with Oxford University Museum of Natural History (OUMNH), during a week-long dig.
