HDBuzz is attending the first Huntington’s Disease (HD) Clinical Research Congress in Nashville, Tennessee, where hundreds of scientists, doctors, and industry representatives have gathered to discuss HD clinical research and care.
The conference is organized by the Huntington Study Group (HSG) and CHDI Foundation, key players in the HD space in basic and clinical research. Day 1 of the meeting is the HD Community Research Day, featuring speakers on topics relevant to families.
The first session was an interview-style panel with Arik Johnson, Chief Mission Officer at HDSA, speaking with Dr. Alexander Dalrymple, a neurologist at UVA, Dr. Daniel Claassen, CEO of HSG, and Frances Saldana, an HD advocate and President Emeritus of HDCare.
The panel aimed to explain elements of a study, such as protocols, endpoints, the experience of participation, and what questions to ask.
Speakers shared their insights to help demystify clinical trials and provide valuable information to families affected by HD.
