Lynchburg Council to Send Resolution on Abortion Clinic Rezoning
The Lynchburg City Council has voted to send a zoning ordinance proposal to the planning commission, aiming to restrict the locations of potential abortion clinics in the city.
During a work session meeting, the council unanimously agreed to forward the proposal, which was introduced by Republican At-Large City Councilman Martin Misjuns. The proposed ordinance would prohibit abortion clinics from being established within 1,000 feet of certain areas, including:
- Schools
- Churches
- Public libraries
- Parks
- Children's museums
- Daycare centers

Councilman Misjuns stated. Currently, there are no abortion clinics in Lynchburg, and no plans for one to be built.
