First Locally Acquired Chikungunya Case in New York
New York health officials have confirmed the first locally acquired chikungunya case in 6 years, with laboratory testing at the Wadsworth Center identifying the case in Nassau County on Long Island.
This case is also the first locally acquired chikungunya case reported in the United States since 2019.
