Winnipeg Police Charge Ex-Employee in $4M Fraud Scheme
A former employee of a Winnipeg building product supplier has been charged with allegedly defrauding the company of over $4 million.
The fraud occurred over eight years, from April 2016 to April 2024.
Investigation Begins
The Winnipeg Police Service's Financial Crimes Unit started investigating in October 2024 after receiving a report of suspected fraud involving the company's rebate program.
