Llanidloes Company Fined £69,000
A Llanidloes company and its director have been fined a total of £69,000 for illegally storing and disposing of waste tyres.
Benji and Co Limited and its director, Peter Rees, pleaded guilty and were sentenced at Welshpool Magistrates Court.
- The company stored and treated tyres without a permit at Gwern Tyddyn, Llanidloes, between January and June 2022.
- Baled tyres were deposited on land at Newhouse Farm, Rhossllyn, and Llys Fynydd, between March and December 2022.
Benji and Co Limited was fined £40,000 and ordered to pay £15,000 in prosecution costs, with £10,000 for each of four offences.
