A former Union County Sheriff's Office employee, Morgan Crider, who also serves as the county's E-911 director, has accused Sheriff Billy Breeding of filing a false disciplinary complaint against her and firing her from her job after she spoke up about it.
Crider also accused the sheriff of making sexual comments towards her, according to a lawsuit filed on October 10, 2025.
The lawsuit outlines a complex timeline that unfolded in the fall of 2024, starting on September 20, 2024, when Breeding issued a notice of disciplinary action against Crider.
Crider said the back-and-forth between her and the county began when Breeding, who also acted as the E-911 director, issued a notice of disciplinary action against her.
A copy of the notice was obtained by WVLT News.
