Stafford School Board Seeks More State Funding
The Stafford School Board has voted unanimously in favor of a legislative wish list, primarily requesting increased state funding for education.
The board is seeking the ability to impose a 1-percent sales tax for school construction and more revenue from taxes.

- A "cost of competing adjustment" (COCA) to match Northern Virginia localities
The school division currently receives 25 percent of the COCA funding, but is requesting 100 percent.
The School Board will present these requests to the General Assembly in its upcoming January session.
